At the 2022 MatchPoints conference you can:

  • meet internationally acclaimed neuroscientists and early-career researchers from the medical sciences as well as researchers from the humanities, political science, and the technical and natural sciences,
  • engage with professionals from both academia, patient associations and other brain interest groups,
  • participate in engaging debates with your colleagues about the brain and learn about the latest research on the brain – both healthy and diseased,

  • as an early-career researcher/PhD or Post Doc participate in a "Meet the Professor"-lunch,
  • as a PhD-student make contact to your respective graduate school for information on how to earn ECTS-points for conference participation,
  • participate in and network at two highly entertaining evening events

MatchPoints 2022 is for everyone with an interest in the brain and neuroscience. The conference will be held in English and with academic content. The conference focuses on four themes:

  • The Molecular Brain
  • The Emotional Brain
  • The Plastic Brain
  • The Diseased Brain

Each of the four themes contains a keynote presentation and 4 workshops on different sub-themes.

The MatchPoints conference series
Since 2007, MatchPoints has been the annual flagship conference of Aarhus University, bringing together researchers, journalists, politicians, business leaders and engaged citizens to discuss the most pressing issues of the day. The purpose of a MatchPoints conferences is to create dialogue between Aarhus University and the surrounding society concerning subjects of wider societal interest. Therefore the conferences will be open to the public. Moreover, it is characteristic of a MatchPoints conferences that the speakers at these events rank among the most highly esteemed national and international figures in the field and subject that the conference is focused on. The conferences are usually interdisciplinary.
